On the Podcast: Michael McDonagh of the Wexford Grunge-and-Metal-Inspired Rock Band Stone Blind State Discusses Regrouping the Project After a Seven-Year Hiatus, The Last-Minute Addition of their Current Frontman Martin Furlong When They Were About to Go on RTÉ’s “Garageland” Programme, and Writing and Recording Their Debut Self-Titled Album

On tonight’s POSTBURNOUT.COM Interviews…, we chat with Michael McDonagh, the guitarist and co-founder of the Wexford grunge-and-metal-inspired rock band Stone Blind State.

Michael discusses forming the band in 2018, his desire to start a band after years of doing cover projects, how Stone Blind State began and choosing their name, how he was unable to maintain a line-up for the longest time, how his friend and ex-bandmate had to sub for their frontman when he dropped out just before they were to begin performing on live radio for RTÉ’s Garageland with Dermot Lambert, how Martin practicised in Joe Duffy’s studio before going on, how his Celtic-music love redirected the project, and how the came together to record their self-titled debut album, which released in February.
